Arts. Education. Community.
Because creativity is for everyone…

About SCECO
Building on the foundation of the acclaimed writers, musicians, and other artists that comprise the Southern Collective Experience (SCE) company, the Southern Collective Experience Community Outreach (SCECO) empowers individuals and communities through arts and education, in both rural and urban areas, care homes, rehabilitation facilities, and detention centers.
SCECO Events
In the few years prior to the pandemic, the seed of SCECO was planted when Southern Collective Experience company founder Clifford Brooks spearheaded a series of increasingly popular community gatherings and open mic nights at the Pickens County public library in rural North Georgia. These events came to be called The Collective Sessions. Now, Southern Collective Experience members and volunteers in multiple states continue to expand this reach in their own communities with events such as:
- Author readings
- Music performances
- Open mic nights
- Writing workshops
- Literary resources for people in prison

SCE Press
Begun in 2015, SCE Press publishes books that help give voice to emerging authors and provide continuing support for more established writers. SCE Press carries on the tradition of many independent publishers before it and is nonprofit in nature.
